Nixie Stem

Ensure there are even gaps at the top and bottom between the faceplate and the stem body. Tighten each bolt in a cross pattern, gradually increasing the tension, and tighten to 6Nm.

The stack height for the Nixie stem is 40mm.

You need at least a 50mm straight section on the handlebar to fit the Nixie stem.

More than most people expect. A shorter stem takes weight off the front wheel and quickens the steering, which is why short stems suit steep, technical descending; a longer one moves you forward, calms the steering and helps the front tyre bite on a climb. The Nixie comes in 40mm and 50mm, both short by trail standards. Remember it changes your reach as well as your handling — a 10mm jump is a fit change, not just a feel change.

No — the Nixie is 31.8mm only, so a 35mm handlebar will not fit it. The steerer clamp is the standard 1-1/8 inch. It weighs 120g in 40mm and 122g in 50mm, which is light for a 3D forged alloy stem. If you need a 35mm clamp, look at the Equalizer Zero or the Funnduro, which come in both.

Length is the deciding factor. The Nixie is the short one — 40 or 50mm, 120 to 122g, 3D forged with a mirror contrast finish. The Tron picks up where it stops, at 50, 60, 70 or 80mm and 126 to 153g, fully CNC machined. Both are 31.8mm only, zero rise and 40mm stack, so they sit your bar at the same height. Take the Nixie for modern trail geometry, the Tron if you want more reach or are building a gravel bike.
