Stem length changes how your bike steers

Shorter stems quicken the steering and keep your weight centred — most trail and enduro bikes run 35mm to 50mm. Longer stems calm the front end and stretch your position for climbing, which is why XC and gravel riders run 50mm to 80mm. Match the clamp to your bars

MTB handlebars come in 31.8mm and 35mm clamp diameters, and the stem must match exactly. The Equalizer and Crossfire come in both clamp sizes; the Nixie and Stryge are 31.8mm.

Rise, drop, or both

The Stryge Riser adds 7° of rise in 60mm to 80mm lengths — a taller front end without stacking spacers. The Stryge Drop does the opposite for riders chasing a lower bar. The Equalizer flips to give either 10mm of rise or 10mm of drop from one stem.

Direct mount for DH

Dual-crown forks skip the steerer clamp entirely: the RSX direct-mount stem bolts straight to the fork crown with dual clamp rings. If you run a dual-crown fork, this is the fitting to use — see the stem types guide for how direct mount differs.

Forged or full-CNC

Forged stems like the Crossfire, Nixie and Funnduro give the best strength for the money. Full-CNC stems — the Equalizer and Tron — carve away more material for lower weight and sharper finishing. Every Funn stem is AL6061 alloy; weights run from about 120g.
