Tron Stem

Ensure the 'No Gap' indication is positioned on the upper side of the stem. Leave no gaps between the faceplates and the stem body by tightening to 6Nm, followed by securing the lower side bolts to the same torque.

The Tron stem uses M5 bolts with a 0.8mm thread pitch and a 18mm threaded section and includes a 1mm washer at the bolt head.

The stack height for the Tron stem is 40mm.

You need at least a 50mm straight section on the handlebar to fit the Tron stem.

It changes it more than most people expect. A shorter stem takes weight off the front wheel and quickens the steering; a longer one moves you forward, calms the steering and helps the front tyre bite on a climb. The Tron runs 50, 60, 70 and 80mm at 126, 136, 146 and 153g. On a modern trail bike the 50 or 60 is usually right; the 70 and 80 suit gravel and cross-country, where a longer, lower position pays off. Remember it changes your reach too, so a big jump is a fit change, not just a feel change.

Length is the deciding factor. The Tron covers 50 to 80mm at 126 to 153g and is fully CNC machined. The Nixie is the short one — 40 or 50mm at 120 to 122g, 3D forged. Both are 31.8mm only, zero rise and 40mm stack, so your bar ends up at the same height either way. Take the Tron if you want reach or are building a gravel bike; take the Nixie if you want the front end as short as it goes.
