Mamba / Ripper / Python / Clast Pedal Pin Kit - 4mm

Pin height is grip traded against clearance. These 4mm pins are the shorter option: less bite, but less sticking out to catch a rock and less to take out of your shin when a foot slips. Pick 4mm if you ride flatter trails, already run soft-soled shoes that grip well, or you have simply had enough of pedal strikes. If you want the pedal to hold your foot regardless — steep, rough or wet — take the 6mm kit instead.

Mamba, Ripper, Python and Clast. The thread is M4 with 0.7mm pitch, so they also suit other brands' flat pedals built around the same thread — worth checking yours before ordering. What they will not fit is the Black Magic, which uses a different pin design and has its own kit, or Taipan and Taipan S, which use a finer M3 pin secured with a nut.

50 pins, plus the tool to fit them. That is comfortably more than a pair of pedals takes, which is the point — you are buying a supply rather than a one-off repair, so the next few you lose are already in the toolbox. Pins are cheap and pedals are not, which is the whole argument for a pedal with replaceable ones.

You can, and some riders do it on purpose — taller pins around the outside where the foot loads hardest, shorter ones through the middle. Both kits use the same M4 thread, so nothing stops you experimenting. The one thing worth keeping is symmetry between the left and right pedal, otherwise your two feet end up on different setups and it is hard to tell what you actually changed.
