Mamba / Ripper / Python / Clast Pedal Pin Kit - 6mm

Pin height is grip traded against clearance. These 6mm pins bite hardest and hold a foot through steep, rough and wet ground, which is why riders on demanding terrain run them. The trade is real: there is more pin standing proud to catch a rock, and more of it to take out of your shin when a foot does come off. If you ride flatter trails or you are tired of pedal strikes, the 4mm kit is the calmer choice.

Mamba, Ripper, Python and Clast, plus other brands' flat pedals built around the same M4 thread with 0.7mm pitch — worth checking yours before ordering. What they will not fit is the Black Magic, which uses a different pin design and has its own kit, or Taipan and Taipan S, which use a finer M3 pin secured with a nut.

50 pins, plus the tool to fit them. That is comfortably more than a pair of pedals takes, which is the point — you are buying a supply rather than a one-off repair, so the next few you lose are already in the toolbox. Pins are cheap and pedals are not, which is the whole argument for a pedal with replaceable ones.

You can, and some riders do it on purpose — these 6mm pins around the outside where the foot loads hardest, 4mm through the middle. Both kits use the same M4 thread, so nothing stops you experimenting. The one thing worth keeping is symmetry between the left and right pedal, otherwise your two feet end up on different setups and it is hard to tell what you actually changed.
