UpDown Dropper Lever

It works with most cable-actuated dropper posts. The detail that usually catches people out is which end the cable head sits at — some posts want the head at the lever, others want it down at the post — and the UpDown handles both, so you do not need to know before you order. It will not work with a hydraulic or wireless dropper, since there is no cable for it to pull.

All four ways: left or right, above or below the handlebar. Most riders end up with it under the left side of the bar, where a front shifter used to live and your thumb can reach it without letting go — but if you run a single-ring drivetrain and prefer it on the right, or you have a brake lever in the way, you have options. Work out where your thumb naturally lands before you tighten anything down.

Two things, and both matter more than they sound. Cable preload takes the slack out of the system, so the post starts moving the instant you press rather than after a dead spot — it is also the first thing to reach for when a dropper gets lazy after a few months. Trigger angle sets where the paddle sits relative to your thumb, so you are not stretching for it mid-descent. Set the angle first with the bike in your riding position, then dial the preload.

Leverage. The paddle is longer, so your thumb works further from the pivot and the same movement pulls the cable with more force behind it. On a dropper you often press at exactly the moment you least want to be fighting a lever — mid-corner, or dropping in — so a light action is worth more than it sounds on paper. The whole lever is CNC machined and weighs 53g.
